The show, which also starred her former boyfriend, and husband of many years, Jarrod Schulz, catapulted each of them into mainstream recognition. Brandi and Jarrod, who are the owners of and run the "Now and Then thrift shop in Orange, California, participated in the show in the hopes of buying some storage units at low costs. They were shocked to them that they would be able to become famous. The couple was extremely polite when it came to their requests during the whole show, and eventually ended up being one of the biggest stars. It was their popularity on reality television that boosted businesses. Apart from running the shop they owned the couple also opened another one. They also were the main characters of a spin-off show titled 'Brandi and Jarrod: Married to the Job.'
